It’s of regrets, not to show concerns on the political policies of the flying political parties parading in the corridors of the Nigeria governmental leaderships.
As the political pioneered party, seemingly soliloquized to initiate new projects to their names to be half completed, others, look back on abandoned projects, revive them and put these projects to work.
One identified secrets, absolute course and catalyst to this massive unemployment rate affecting Nigeria today is a result of numerous abandoned projects that should have in a way created job opportunities at the projections of our rising unemployed population.
Government Projects that met their unnecessary ends, influenced by Supreme powers or clustered in the hands of friends with the virtue of privatization.
In the 1999-2007 political calendar, Bitter politics seemed to had be-clouded the role of the government to the people as sentiments were attached to existed projects in pursuit of loyalty to a political party.
On Friday, 5th December 2020, the revelations that came with the visit of the Minister of Power to Abia state is enough to put an end to any political parties with symptoms of bitter politics.
In the industrial, social and economic growth of a nation, accessible roads and electricity are the prime drive of the economy. As revealed on Friday, 5th Dec. 2020, the Power Transmission projects, facilitated by the then governor of Abia State, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu met it’s unjustified ends for which only the existed administration at real time of projects execution, can tell the reasons for abandoning these projects for nearly twenty (20) years (2 decades).
A project that would had in times enveloped industries, create jobs and enhance the living standards of the locality and beyond.
What good is it, that such projects be abandoned and left to rot? Of what benefits is it, to for 20 years leave such projects of mutual benefits to the people and the government in terms of revenue generation?
There are much more lots of projects, of this kind. Projects of great impacts, probably abandoned yet unknown. This revelations revealed deep enough, the struggles of the then administration in the hands of the power at the center.
What more could Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu had done, if not to use the recourses offered to do the best he did, of which till date, speaks volumes to his comparison in Abia state?
In the midst of the perceptions on this present administration of Mr President Muhammadu Buhari, looking at the dramas, the people and the government, one can still in an oblivious mind, commend the reviving policies, looking at the past to build the beauty of tomorrow.
The steps taken to continue with projects meet unfinished is a sign of willingness to work and deliver to the people, the dividends of democracy, irrespective of political parties.
The trip of the Minister of Power to these abandoned power plants in Abia North, that started installation at the time of President Olusegun Obasanjo of the PDP is not a propaganda to be ridiculed with. It’s an open fact that either the PDP as a political party does not have the interest of the region or their principles are faulty to be reckoned with.
These and many more abandoned projects across the nation are getting engagements with this Buhari’s administration, no doubt.
Abia State and her people should by now, seen that the vision of their tomorrow is too bogus for the PDP to conceive. Ebonyi State, a flesh, cut off from Abia state is today a big testimony to the discarding of bitter politics.
The governor of the state testified, “Ebonyi can not be the way it is today, if not for the special interventions of the Federal government”. Federal government of what political party, the PDP at the center? It brings about the need to be in the mainstream.
With the rate of votes given to the PDP by the southeast in previous elections, what states of the five in the Southeast region can from the past boast of much impacts notably to say nor hold for inclusiveness through these years of pally and romance with the PDP?
Mr President Muhammadu Buhari is list expected to perform in the southeast by virtue of previous election outcome from the region. However, to be professional is key! In his professionalism and love, not to put to shame those that believed in his vision for the nation from the southeast region, though thorn by the past, is worth commendations. He may not do all to satisfy all but it is commendable to begin!
As Abians await Mr President Buhari of the APC’s actions on these revealed huge abandoned projects under the PDP of times, many at same time, awaits the sad news that may follow a refusal of actions in practicality. The visit of the Minister of Power is already a step to the completion of the power projects. He was practically official. He came for reasons and those reasons will in no distant time be marked with the trademark of revival.
The Voyage is thick, led by the Honourable minister of Power Engr. Mamman Kwagyang Saleh. The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Power; Chinyeaka Christian Ohaa, Managing Director Transmission Company of Nigeria; Engr Sule Ahmed. The Director of Transmission; Nosike Emmanuel as well as several other Directors and Engineers from the Ministry of power that inspected the power transmission sites. They are, as a matter of diligence, prepared to deliver these power plants in working condition
More working revelations of this present administration for the southeast region are on the way. We must at this time embrace a working government irrespective of the militating constraints to upturn nor discredit the express efforts made so far.
