As Nigerians celebrates June 12 Democracy Day, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North has dropped an amazing message to Nigerians.
Kalu, a Senate Chief Whip and former Abia State governor in his message said “Today being June 12 , 2020 signifies yet another indelible historical moment of dear nation as we continue to strife for a befitting democracy for all Nigerians.
Kalu stated that “It’s been 21 years of uninterrupted democratic system of government in our dear country.
He stated that “Our democratic system may not be perfect but it’s surely achievable with the cohesive efforts of Governments at all levels and the cooperation of the people”.
There’s also a dire need for transparency, undiluted patriotism and commitment from the various arms of government for our democracy to become meaningful to every Nigerian.
Undoubtedly Democracy remains the most preferable form of Government and Nigerians yearn for more of its dividends. Which include but not limited to; Security, Infrastructure, Health care,Education, Equity, Justice, Freedom and etal.
As we commemorate and celebrate the remembrance of Moshood Kashimawo Abiola (MKO) and other heroes of our hard fought democracy , I want to assure all Nigerians that I would do by best to ensure its sustenance.
Our dear President Muhammadu Buhari on his part has not relented in his efforts aimed at harnessing our nations enormous human talents and material resources to solve our challenges and I commend him.
I urge us all not to give up but keep hope alive as we collectively work together to actualize the nation we all desire.
Happy Democracy Day Nigeria.
