Professor Uchenna Ikonne, governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s favourite aspirant has emerged winner at the just concluded Abia PDP governorship primaries.
In the contest, which was held at the Umuahia Township Stadium, Professor Uchenna Ikonne polled 468 votes to emerge the flag bearer for the party.

Meanwhile, prior to the primary election, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Deputy Governor Ude Oko-Chukwu and Ncheta Omerekpe has withdrawn from the race under PDP citing imposition of aspirants.
