Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North Senatorial district, on Sunday August 15, hosted the Prelate and Moderator of The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, His Eminence Nzie Nsi Eke at his Abuja home.
During the visit, the prelate commended Senator Kalu for massive road infrastructure and other life-impacting strides he has achieved since he came to the Senate.
The clergy also thanked Senator Kalu for his scholarship scheme which has benefitted over Abians and people from other states, to study in Nigerian and foreign universities
His Eminence Nzie Nsi Eke and his entourage arrived at at the former governor’s home shortly after the 175th-anniversary service North Synod of the church which took place at the nation’s capital.
He further commended the Senate Chief Whip over his capacity and willingness to touch the lives of people of Abia North, the state and country at large, urging him not to relent.
Sen. Kalu in his response applauded His Eminence Nzie Nsi Eke for being exemplary and a model in uniting the body of Christ and the nation at large.
He charges them to always preach and pray for the unity of the country and not to see their position as a tool of division.
Reacting on suspension of the sit-at-home order issued by the leadership of IPOB, the federal lawmaker commended the suspension of the order, insisting that it is unhealthy for the economy of South-East and the nation at large.
