Kano state police has arrested the deputy governor, Nasir Gawuna, commissioner in charge of Local government and chieftaincy affairs, Sule Garo, for causing harvoc at the State collation centre of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The government Officials had stormed the collation center by 2 am on Monday, disrupting collation processes which led to stoppage of the announcement of results in the state.
The police are expected to later release Mr Gawuna without charges as he enjoys constitutional immunity from prosecution based on the office he holds.
