The Governor of Anambra state, Prof. Charles Soludo on Thursday, met Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi in Awka, the state capital.
Obi and Soludo, who met at St Patrick Cathedral, Awka during the Thanksgiving mass of Most Rev. Bishop Ezeokafor’s 70th birthday, could be seen embracing each other, while they exchanged pleasantry.
The meeting comes barely weeks after Soludo wrote a long epistle attacking Peter Obi for running for the presidential post of the country.
Soludo, had in the article credited to him, criticized Peter Obi’s governance records in Anambra State and even dismissed his chances of wining the 2023 presidential election.
According to Soludo, Obi knows he can’t win and will not win the election. He accused Obi of unleashing his supporters on him following an interview he granted on ChannelsTV.
Soludo’s comment has generated mixed reactions online, a former minister of Education, Professor Fabian Osuji, described the attack as a total embarrassment, adding that he is “truly ashamed of him”.
“I am thoroughly embarrassed about the level of hostility being exhibited by our brother and friend Prof Charles Soludo towards Peter Obi,” Prof Osuji said.
He however, added that, “There is still time for him (Soludo) to reverse himself in this matter. Ndigbo must not allow him to get away with this,” Prof Osuji declared.
