The police officer who was captured assaulting a man on Port Harcourt highway in a viral video that trended online has been arrested.
The police officers were identified as Inspector Adejoh Siaka; Inspector Friday Obaka, and Sgt. Ndiwa Kpuebari.
The Force spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi disclosed this on his Twitter handle.
In a video, a police officer is seen slapping and flogging a man who was stopped on the road.
Reacting to the video, Adejobi condemned the action and assured that the officers would be arrested.
However, on Tuesday, he confirmed that the officers has been arrested.
“These men have been arrested, and their commander will personally bring them to the Force Headquarters for further action. They are three in number, attached to RRS, or Rivers State. Their action does not portray the police in a good light at all.
Adejobi stated that whatever a policeman does is personal and that it is not systematic.
He said he is shocked at how a man would be flogging or slapping a grown-up man, which he described as barbaric and unpoliced.
