Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate has weighed in on the recent video displaying the long motorcade of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
AbaCityBlog reports that a viral video shows the long convoy of President Tinubu, the video which was recorded the day the President came back into the country from United Kingdom, UK, has stirred so much reaction online.
Many Nigerians have openly condemned the long motorcade which has about 124 cars. The condemnation was following the fact the country is experiencing a harsh economy and the recent hike in petrol price caused by removal of fuel subsidy.
Asked for his opinion on the long motorcade, Peter Obi said although, he was not opportune to watch the video, but he has always reiterated that “The present Nigeria requires that all those who serve and lead must do so by example.
“Their behaviour and their public conduct must be in consonance with what the society requires today.
“We cannot continue to preach for the people to sacrifice without sacrificing too. The sacrifices must now start from the leaders visibly, and measurably at all times because the people are suffering. We must now be at the forefront of addressing the suffering”, he concluded.

I've been asked questions related to cutting down the cost of governance, and the complaints by Nigerians concerning a trending motorcade video. I wasn't opportune to see the video, but I will repeat what I said. pic.twitter.com/kYMEbiJtd8
