Banky Wellington, a musician turned Politician has been denied the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, House of Representatives ticket for Eti-Osa federal Constituency, Lagos State.
Banky was rumuored to have clinched the House of Reps ticket after he allegedly won in the primaries conducted on 24th May, 2023. He won after polling 23 votes out of 30 votes cast by the party delegates.
However, a PDP official result sheet of the primary election conducted in Eti-Osa showed that Banky came second after he polled a total number of 07 votes.
Reacting to the development, activist, Deji Adeyanju described PDP as “a cursed party”, he said all the political party cares is “dollars”.
“PDP is cursed. @BankyW didn’t get the ticket according to their latest evil scheme. All they care about is dollars,” he tweeted.

Also reacting, movie star, Yul Edochie said same thing happened to him when he contested for governorship in Anambra State in 2017.
According to Edochie, “90% of political parties in Nigeria are set up for money”.

“They don’t care about state of the country. That’s why APC sold form for 100m. When I ran for Governor in 2017 my party people nearly fought me cos I wasn’t sharing money.
