The members of OUK Movement, Abia State Chapter, have expressed their gratitude to the Founder and Leader of OUK Movement for his benevolence towards them and the massive infrastructural development going on in Abia North Senatorial District of Abia State and encouraged him to use his exalted position in the Senate to do more.
Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, who is also the Chief Whip of the Senate, has in less than two years in the Upper Chamber attracted numerous projects to Abia North Senatorial District which he represents, a record that has surpassed that of those who have been in the Senate for more than twelve years.
Members of the State enlarged Exco of OUK Movement, Abia State expressed their feelings during a meeting of OUK Movement held on Saturday the 1st day of May, 2021 at the State Secretariat, Umuahia, Abia State of Nigeria.
Addressing the members, the Chairman of OUK Movement, Abia State, thanked members for their steadfastness and urged them to remain resolute as the Leader of the Movement is determined to better the lives of the members.
The State Chairman Engr. Agu Ndukwe Orji assured them that the Leader of OUK Movement is a man of few words, but filled with numerous actions and advised them to always ensure that they exhibit diligence and honesty in all their activities and informed members that Senator Orji Uzor Kalu (MON) provided 10,000 oil palm seedlings for distribution across the State.
For effective distribution of the oil palm seedlings, a three man Committee was set up to work out modalities to ensure that the kind largesse of OUK gets to the grassroot.
The members of OUK Movement equally appreciated Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for providing financial assistance to one of her members who was involved in a motorcycle accident and appealed to him not to be deterred by anyone from doing good.
Though, it is not yet uhuru for the accident victim, however, members in attendance were able to raise the sum of #28,000.00 as through freewill donation as financial assistance to the victim who is one of her own.
Members of OUK Movement, particularly those from Abia North Senatorial District where OUK has shown unparalleled, efficient and effective leadership and representation, appealed to the Leader of OUK Movement to prevail on the Contractors handling the projects he attracted to his people to consider to engage some of the youths from the area in the execution of such jobs as by so doing, employment opportunities would be created for the Youths and youth restiveness would be minimal particularly in such areas since they would be meaningfully engaged .
Members unanimously expressed their avowed determination to ensure that the goals and aspirations of OUK Movement are realized and assured the Founder and Leader of OUK Movement, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu that they are strongly behind him and encouraged him to continue in his effective and efficient representation.
Members of the State Executive Committee including the seventeen local government area Chairmen were present in the meeting.
The State Chairman announced the presence of Mrs Onyema Johnson – Kanu who was appointed as States&Diaspora Relations Officer by the Leader, Senator OUK and she was warmly welcomed and charged to ensure that she contributes positively towards the growth and widespread of OUK Movement in the State and beyond.
Members thanked the leader, H. E. Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for his humility in speaking with every member during the meeting and for providing logistics for their transport and prayed God to continue to enlarge his coast.
