His Imperial Majesty, Ọ̀ọni Adeyẹ́yẹ̀ Ẹnitan Bàbátunde Ògúnwusi II, Ooni of Ife, has welcomed son, Prince Tadenikowo Adesoji Aderemi Eri-Ifeoluwasimi, who he named after his predecessor.
On 18th of November 2020, the Oni of Ife, announced the birth of the Prince. “Hearty congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and Olori Silekunola who today birthed a Prince to the Royal throne of Oduduwa,” the traditional ruler wrote on twitter.
However, as a traditionalist, the king is billed to name his son 21 days after birth, hence the prince was named yesterday in a colorful ceremony which also marked the 5th year anniversary of the king, since he ascended the throne as Ọ̀ọni Adeyẹ́yẹ̀ Ẹnitan Bàbátunde Ògúnwusi II.
He said;
“In accordance with the traditional rites lasting for 21 days with today marking the 8th day, and in keeping to my promise of naming our first prince after my predecessor the 49th Ooni of Ife in the 3rd dynasty of Ife.”
“Our prince is hereby named “Tadenikawo, Adesoji, Aderemi, Eri-Ifeoluwasimi, Adeiwa, Inioluwa, Ademide, Adegbite, Diekoloreoluwa Ogunwusi Ojaja II.
“Pray to God to guide and keep him in fulfillment of his destiny.
Describing his 5 years journey as Oni of Ife, the traditional ruler said his quest to ascend the throne is “unquestionably dedicated towards the youths as they are the leaders of today and tomorrow.”
He said;
“Yesterday marked 5 years that I ascended the Throne of my forbearers. It has been a journey of grace through the guidance of the Almighty.
The colorful event has in attendance people from all walks of life, including the youths, who grace the anniversary and also the naming of the new born prince.
Thanking the youths for the role they play in the society, Oni urged the youths not to relent in their endavours, “Your struggles are my struggles and worries are my worries,” the traditional ruler said.
“I was glad and fulfilled as I celebrated my day with my sons and daughters all across the nation.
My commitment to you the youths of Nigeria are uncompromised, whatever door you need open, I am ready and able to bring them down on your behalf.“Today, I welcomed our prince Tadenikowo Adesoji Aderemi Eri-Ifeoluwasimi and the mother to the palace of Ile Oodua. The almighty will exalt him and divinely make him the best.
