The Okezie School of Midwifery, Abiriba, in Ohafia Local Government Area, Abia State, has been granted approval to admit two streams of students by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
Recall that the management of the Okezie School of Midwifery, Abiriba, has applied to the Council for approval to admit two streams of students following the high number of candidates seeking opportunities to study in the school.
Following the approval, all schools of nursing and midwifery in Abia State, have been fully accredited.
The Council granted the approval in a letter, dated 12th April,2023, signed for Council’s Secretary General/Registrar, by the Director (Nursing)/HOD Standards, and Accreditation Department, Ndagi Alhassan, and addressed to the Principal, Okezie School of Midwifery,
The Council hoped that the School would reciprocate the gesture by continuing to promote and maintain standards in nursing and midwifery education in the institution.
“I am further directed to inform you that the Secretary General/Registrar has graciously considered and approved your request to have double streams in your institution as requested. It is hoped that the School will reciprocate the gesture by continuing to promote and maintain standards in nursing and midwifery education in the institution,” the letter read in part.
