Jideofor Okekenweje, has paid a tribute to late 39-yr-old Alika Ogochukwu, a Nigerian man based in Italy, who was beaten to death by an Italian man, identified as Filippo Claudio Giuseppe Ferlazzo.

Ogochukwu, a father-of-two and a street trader was murdered by Ferlazzo, in a broad daylight in Civitanova Marche’s busy town centre, a beach town on the Adriatic Sea, on Friday.

Police in Italy said the victim was selling goods when his attacker grabbed his crutch and struck him down with a series of blows.

While the attacker has been arrested and detained, the Nigerians Embassy in Italy has called on Nigerians to remain calm, assuring that justice will prevail.

Jideofor Okekenweje, in a tribute to Alika Ogochukwu, blamed the murder on the inaction of the Nigerian government and the way they treat their citizens.

He queried the federal government and the Nigerian public for keeping calm despite the humiliation diaspora Nigerians face on a daily.

He said: “Since yesterday night, i have been searching for a related answer to this painful death.

“But was so down and emotionally drained. I cannot connect this with reality.

“In a broad day light, someone took out his/her phone to record this, watched as a disabled man get mauled and killed in a cold blood.

I wake in anger but cannot fight the wind. Neither can i questioned the Italian authorities.
But became strong when i opened my phone and saw some of our discussions here.

The ocean cannot contain my tears, the ground cannot either. It flows like water from the rock.

What a shame as a country, what a shame as people of Nigeria.

Americans can stop anything they were doing to protest about one of their citizens killed in a foreign land, France will ask questions with actions, Germany will summon the country Ambassador for an answer. Israel will impose sanctions and promise retaliation if there is no answer, Japan will recalled their Ambassador and closed down the embassy, Russia will stop any business transactions, Chinese will spit fire. Iran, Pakistan will burnt down the country embassy. India will issue visa ban, Brazil will seek legal action from united nation….

What a country, what a people called Nigeria and Nigerians. What a shame, what a heartless people. We are here posting Obi this Obi that, Tinubu this, Tinubu that.

The Italian man have the audacity to killed an innocent man because he knows that his country did not value his life. Italians watched as they do in early 3rd, 4th, 5th centuries when they set dangerous animals against human beings.

They said to themselves, hundreds of them are killed everyday, thousands in a week, their government didn’t care, their people never mind. The life of an average Nigerian worth less than that of a chicken. They are less valued than a street dog. Their lives and blood is nothing. Who can speak for them. Who can protect them.

They have no government, they cannot sanctioned anyone because their country leads to no where. They have no military power, they produced nothing. They depends on international communities for everything.

They are Nigeria, the most useless country on earth. Where corruption is king, atrocities are the leaders. Their leaders steal from them and come to invest in our countries. We used their money to develop our countries. We produce weapons and sell them to them to kill themselves.

They have the most blind in mind journalists, the most unpopular media on earth. They only covers political thieves and discuss politics.

Dear Nigerians, put value in our lives, call on our government to value the lives of the people, stop all this unjustified killings, take away the guns from hooligans, street touts, political tugs.

Discussion things like this to show displeasure, condemned it to show concerns, attack the government for their inaction for them to wake up.

Tell Buhari to summon Italian Ambassador for questions. Tell the senate to expel their Ambassador for immediate answer. Stop every other topics. Let us show some values in our lives. Discuss it as if you are the one, feel it as if the person is your brother, son, in law. This is the only way the international will.have regards on us.

Let the world know that we are aware of what happened, let the world see the pains in our voices and actions. Please don’t role this under the carpet, Many more Nigerians will be killed if we did not act now or show concern.

Tell me, show me where a sitting senator of any country will be arrested, humiliated and treated the way Sen. Ike has been treated. No matter his offense, no matter his crime, he will be hold or held in a house arrest in Nigeria embassy until the case is resolved or solved. Or house arrest in his own house. But he was thrown inside the prison like a common criminal.

That shows us how much respect Nigerians command abroad, that shows us how other countries values our citizens….

Is Nigeria and Nigerians living in ISOLATION?

Is the rest of the world isolating Nigeria?

The time will tell. We cannot continue like this, we cannot continue keeping silent. Something must be done.

The man did not say Goodbye to his family and loved ones, Never say Goodbye

What a painful and stressful death.

Rest in peace Nigeria…

Jideofor Okekenweje.
