OYC, in a statement signed by its President General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, emphasized that with the recent APC victory at Bayelsa and Kogi State Governorship election, South/South and Southwest is having political advantage over South East over 2023, adding that its time to collapse PDP in the South East.
Parts of the statement reads…
“OYC plead with Southeast Governors and political leaders to ensure that the move ahead to the ruling party now there’s opportunity to work ahead of time, We can never played opposition politics in the history of Nigeria, irrespective that South East Governors are having cordial relationship with President Muhammadu Buhari, it’s not enough to guarantee the security and collective and political benefits of South East, the two Governors moving to APC is not enough but needs at least three Governors and Nine senators and twenty House of Representatives members in APC by first quarter of 2020, let’s make PDP minority party in the South East, chances of PDP to regain Presidential power is slim in 2023.
“We congratulate the APC Governors Elect in Bayelsa, David Lyon and Gov Bello Kogi state and Urge them to protect the interests of igbos in their various states through business friendly policies and political benefits, Igbo leadership in these areas are happy over the overwhelming victories in these states and will do what is required to be law abiding citizens and Support the two APC Governors Elect in Bayelsa and Kogi States.
