Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili has called out the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for using her picture in the party’s campaign flier.
The opposition party had in a tweet on its verified twitter handle shared a flier which connotes that the PDP had organized the best economic team to move the country forward if its flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar becomes President in 2023.
The campaign flier contains pictures of personalities, such as; PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Director General of The World Trade Organization, WTO, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Anambra State governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, Kaduna State governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai and Oby Ezekwesili.
The flier is shared with caption:
“2023: The @OfficialPDPNig Presidential Candidate, @atiku is committed to working assiduously to achieve a United, Secure and Economically Viable Nigeria, that will work for all citizens irrespective of their social status, religious, ethnic or political biases. #Atiku4SURE.”
Reacting to the post, Dr Ezekwesili, an economic policy expert and advocate for transparency, accountability and good governance, said it’s totally wrong for the opposition party to use her picture in campaign flier without her consent.
“It might be an innocent mistake, but this statement is false and therefore extremely misleading, @OfficialPDPNig,” Oby Ezekwesili tweeted.
She added that; “It is also wrong that you have used my picture in your campaign flier without my consent. “Please do kindly remove this immediately. Many thanks!✍🏾
