Former Aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has responded to a statement credited to Buba Galadima, an associate of President Muhammadu Buhari on 2023 presidency.
Galadima, who appeared on AriseTV yesterday said the North would support any candidate from Southeast for 2023 presidency. But said the zone should stop using the term “Igbo Presidency”.
‘I want the Igbo people to stop using the term ‘Igbo Presidency’, it’s very wrong, in fact they should remove it from their dictionary if they want to produce the next president in 2023′, Galadima said while he appeared on AriseTV.

He, however, noted that Igbos has the best chance of producing the next president in 2023, going by the political tripod in Nigeria.
‘I have lots friends from the Southeast region, Orji Uzor Kalu, Rochas Okorocha, Peter Obi, etc. These people are more qualified’, Galadima noted.
But his statement on there is nothing like “Igbo Presidency”, has got the attention of Fani-Kayode.
Reacting in a series of twitter post, the PDP chieftain said;
“When a Fulani was supported for the Presidency did we say we will support a North Westerner and not a Fulani? Why the double standard?
“We must call a spade a spade. The people of the South East are Igbos, the word IGBO is not a dirty one and there is NOTHING wrong with an Igbo Presidency.
"We will support candidate from South East, but not Igbo presidency"- Buba Galadima.
Who are the "we" and what exactly does this mean?
When a Fulani was supported for the Presidency did we say we will support a North Westerner and not a Fulani? Why the double standard? 1/2
