Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, The leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has reacted over the news of cancellation of President Muhammadu Buhari’s scheduled nationwide broadcast.

The President Media Aide, Bashir Ahmed had earlier announced that President Buhari would be addressing the nation today on the progress made in the fight against Coronavirus. The address will be the third time the President has addressed the country since the outbreak of the Covid-19.

However, while Nigerians are awaiting the broadcast, the President Spokesman, Femi Adesina revealed that the broadcast has been cancelled as planned.

According to him, the broadcast was not even planned. “Rather, the Presidential Task Force will during its usual media briefings bring the nation up to speed on the next steps”, Mr. Adesina said on twitter.

Reacting to the cancellation, Kanu, leader of IPOB and ardent critic of President Buhari who had alleged that the President has died along time ago, opined that the cancellation showed that no one can rule the country of over 200M people with guns.

According to him, there are forces behind the cancellation of the broadcast.

“Cancellation of purported ‘presidential’ speech is recognition you cannot rule 200M people with GUNS, few theatrical masks and DEEP FAKE engineered videos. #DivideNigeriaNow”, Kanu wrote on twitter.

“In my meeting with the Governors today, I informed them that I have directed the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 to work very closely with all State Governors. To succeed in containing this pandemic we have to improve collaboration”, the President wrote on twitter.

“I also stressed the need for extensive public education and enlightenment. We need to continue to educate and persuade Nigerians to accept the reality of the situation, and do all that is necessary to stay safe.
