The Federal government has re-opened Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja
The Airport was on Saturday reopened with limited service after nearly three months of shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
The Airport which was shutdown on March by the Federal government was re-opened while it witnessed strict compliance to other safety measures aimed at curtailing the spread of the virus.
Journalists covering the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 were led on test-run the the operation from Lagos to Abuja to witness firsthand the reopening of the aviation sector.
The COVID-19 safety protocols and screening were carried out on passengers at the departure lounge.
The airplane seats were re-arranged in compliance to observe social distancing.
Inscriptions guiding passengers were placed on seats to create awareness and safety precautions such a: “do not use this seat”, “keep your distance”.
