Nigerians mourn Chinelo, a Medical Doctor who died last night as Terrorists Attack Kaduna-Abuja train

AbaCityBlog reported that terrorists detonated bombs on the railtrack of Abuja-Kaduna train and successfully immobilised it.

According to sources familiar with train Service, the train was attacked around Kateri-Rijana general areas.

As the terrorists held the train hostage, one of the passengers, Uniport-trained dental surgeon, Chinelo Nwado Megafu sent out a tweet calling on friends to pray for her that she has been shot.

While many didn’t believe her, few of her friends prayed for her and ask her to hang on.

And that was the last tweet recorded in her account.

Until a fellow medical doctor, Dr. Sina, confirmed that a friend of his was notified that Chinelo has passed away, following the bullet wounds.

“She tweeted yesterday that we should pray for her. Sadly she didn’t make it. She was a Doctor

Another close associate, said Dr Chinelo recently resigned from her place of work, while she has processed her papers to travel abroad.

“Dr Chinelo was making an honest living, she was working at St Gerald’s hospital in Kaduna, she wanted more for herself and processed her papers to leave this hell-hole. She resigned last month to leave the country this Friday then this happened. Nigeria why???💔💔💔 – a twitter user @Stephadamu tweeted.

Reacting to the terrorists attack, the Kaduna State government, in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, said security agencies have reported the situation to the Kaduna State Government.

“The Kaduna State Government received multiple reports of an attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train service at around Kateri-Rijana general areas.

“Relevant action agencies were urgently contacted, and robust deployments of personnel were swiftly made to the area to secure the passengers on board.

“Efforts are ongoing to convey the passengers from the location and others that sustained injuries have been rushed to hospitals for urgent medical attention.

“The Government of Kaduna State will be liaising with the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) to ascertain the list from the passengers’ manifest for efficient tracking.

“This is to acquire an accurate inventory of all passengers and their actual status,” Mr Aruwan said.

Tributes have been pouring in for Dr Chinelo. Nigerians have taken to their twitter account to write their tributes to a medical doctor who was described as “Beauty with Brain”
