Nigerians in Niger Republic has sent out a message of peace, calling on the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, not to invade the country using military force against the coup plotters.
AbaCityBlog reports that ECOWAS, led by Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu had last Sunday issued a 7-day ultimatum to the coup plotters in Niger Republic to restore elected President Mohammed Bazoum to power or face serious measures, including possible military invasion.
President Tinubu had on Friday written to the National Assembly to inform the lawmakers of the resolution of the ECOWAS leaders.
However, in a viral video sighted by AbaCityBlog, group of Nigerian communities in Niger Republic gathered and sent out a message peace, saying they have been living in peace with their host, Niger Republic and they don’t want War.
“We don’t want war in Niger Republic, we want peace. We have been living in peace with Nigeriens and we want peace not war”, the people said.
