Popular actor, Yul Edochie has called on Nigerians to worry about the hunger and harsh economy rather than the trouser worn by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Yul Edochie was reacting following the comments and reaction that elicited from the outfit worn by President Buhari during his visit to Owerri, Imo State – yesterday September 9, 2021.
Recall that Buhari was invited to Imo by the State Governor, Hope Uzodinma to commission projects executed by the administration.
During his visit, Buhari who came to the state wearing a popular Igbo attire known as ‘Isi Agu’ top and a pink coloured trouser. However, the trouser worn by the President became a topic on the internet and offline.
The reaction started when an aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Mr. Reno Omokri asked the President, who sewed the trousers for him. According to Omokri, the president should have known better that the trouser doesn’t look good on him.
He wrote;
“Dear General Buhari,
“Was it Kyari the that sewed this trouser? Trouser that looks like what you did to the Nigerian economy? Even prisoners wear better trousers. This looks like what a plumber sewed. Honestly, Buhari you could have done better!
The post generated mixed reactions online as many asked Mr. President not to wear such an outfit again.
Reacting, Yul Edochie said he was very disappointed with Nigerians. He said instead of the people to demand for good leadership, they’re talking about someone’s trousers.
“Who cares how his trousers look? Yul Edochie asked. “If he likes let him not wear any trousers.”
“Instead of Nigerians to talk about sinking economy, hunger, insecurity – people are talking about trousers. Nigerians are dying in hunger, prices of goods kept and food stuff kept on increasing”.
“When Buhari assume office in Naira was N260 to $1 but today it’s N540 to $1″, these are things we should be talking about not the trousers he wore.”
