Nigerian automobile engineer, Mustapha Gajibo, from Borno State, has continued to convert fuel-run cars into complete-electric vehicles that use solar power after being fully charged for 35 minutes at charging platforms.
Gajibo’s innovation has led Tricycle and public bus operators to bring forth their vehicles for conversion.
The automobile engineer has begun producing his own electric 12-seater buses from scratch in Borno. The electric powered bus is capable of running 200km after a fully charged session.
Gajibo’s innovation has attracted the attention of the Nigerian Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, alongside Borno State Governor, Professor Zulum and car designer, Jelani Aliyu.
“We have move a step forward from electrifying buses to full design and fabrication of electric buses locally in Maiduguri, Nigeria,” Gajibo tweeted via his official Twitter handle, @mustapha_gajibo
