Ada Imo state, isabella okafor has continued to demonstrate her philanthropic gesture as she kicks off yet another commendable project in Imo State.
The beauty queen in collaboration with the association of models in Imo State visited the Artillery Brigade barracks Obinze Owerri and donated palliatives to over 100 widows and orphans of fallen military heroes.
Since the start of the Boko Haram insurgency in 2009, thousands of troops have been killed by the Islamist militant group and its West African affiliate ISWAP, leaving behind their families.
The gesture, in collaboration with the Imo State Models Association was part of the Queen’s usual efforts in providing succour to the teeming population of vulnerable and less privileged persons in our society.
Speaking while flagging off the exercise, the Special Guest of Honour, the Immediate past Garrison Commander, Col. MU Jibo commended the beauty queen and her team for supporting government’s efforts in the provision of relief items and other incentives to cushion the economic hardship faced by the vulnerable widows.
According to the beauty queen, the idea behind the project was to empower, encourage, enlighten and feel the pulse of these widows whose husbands lost their lives in service to our Dear Nation, Nigeria securing our lives and properties.
Some of the items distributed at the event include; cash funds, bags of rice, noodles, fabrics and other relief materials.
