Nigerian artist and activist DJ Switch, who witnessed the shooting of #EndSARS protesters at Lekki Tollgate on Tuesday, 20th of October, 2020, has described Nigeria under the present administration as a dictatorship with a democratic face.
Speaking to Becky, CNN news anchor from hiding, the activist revealed the horrors she witnessed at an #EndSARS protest, and why she can’t trust the Nigerian government.
This is coming few weeks after the Nigerian government has denied shooting of protesters at Lekki Tollgate. First, the Lagos State government admitted there was shooting at Lekki Tollgate on 20th of October, however, the governor, Jide San-wolu during statewide broadcast said power beyond him sent the military who shot at the protesters.
DJ Switch who streamed live on Instagram the shooting at the fateful night has been into hiding since the incident following numerous threats she allegedly received. But the military had said they are not after her, citing they have bigger fish to fry.
Appearing on CNN, the artist told the world what she saw and why she believes Nigeria is under dictatorship.
