Video Assistant Referee (VAR) will be used at the 20th National Sports Festival which be held in Edo State.
The sports festival which has been scheduled to kick-start on 20th March, 2020, will be the 20th edition of the National Sports Festival in Nigeria.
The use of VAR which has been on the vogue in the international matches will be introduced. According to reports, the technology has helped in correcting errors not seen by the referees and their linesmen.
VAR introduction in the National Sports Festival will be the first time the technology will be used in Nigerian matches, the announcement was made by the Sports festival twitter handle with caption;

Also the Federal Minister of Youth & Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has visited the sports facility which was built by the Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki in line with the 20th National Sports Festival.
“…this morning inspecting facilities, secretariat, hostels and Games Village inside University of Benin for the Edo 2020 National Sports Festival. I was in the company of the Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shuib”, the minister wrote on his twitter page.
