The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reacted to the reports of the suspected COVID-19 patient, who caused stirs in the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital, ESUT.
The reports yesterday was shared by Abacityblog, we reported how the woman’s presence stirred up fears, thereby pushing the health workers to scamper for safety.
According to reports, the 70-yrs-old woman who came for checkup was suspected to have contracted COVID-19, she had travelled to the United Kingdom 5 months ago and returned to the country on 11th March, 2020.
On sighting the woman, the health workers scamper over fear of contacting the deadly disease. The reports further stated that the woman was denied access into the hospital over lack of safety gear in the teaching hospital.

Reacting over the reports, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said it’s aware of the case and had collected sample of the woman for test.
“The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control is aware of the patient in Enugu, suspected to have #COVID19.
“This is one of several alerts received daily at the National #COVID19 Emergency Operations Centre.
“The patient is in isolation, sample collected and results expected tomorrow.
