The men of the Nigeria army have reportedly set houses and shops on fire in Awo-Omamma, Orlu LGA, Imo State.
Social media user, Emeka Gift who shared the photos and the video of the burning houses and shops, said the incidents occured shortly after the soldiers had a confrontation with some unknown gunmen who were enforcing the Monday sit-at-home order.
According to him, the unknown gunmen killed an army officer after the confrontation and revenging the killing, the soldiers began setting ablaze houses and shops in area.
“Unknown gun men enforcing sit at home killed a soldier then soldiers mobilise, return and set Awo-omamma on fire,” Emeka Gift wrote on Facebook.
