Chima Amaugo, the Vice Chairman of Ngwa High School Aba Old Boys Association, 1982 set, has urged old students to support infrastructure upgrade of the school, which “still ranks as one of the best heritage institutions in the old Eastern region.’
Amaugo who spoke on the association’s end of the year festivities, which will climax with a party, said some of the facilities in the school need upgrade, adding that the association, next year, will seek ways of rehabilitating structures, where necessary.
The association Vice Chairman said the old boys are set to rekindle partying atmosphere, which made the school tick 40 years ago, adding that the get together, with the theme: ‘Homecoming Sympo,’ will hold, today, at Luxury City Hotel, Umungasi, Aba, from 03.00 p.m.
Amaugo invited every member of the association to come with his wive, adding that the old boys will use the opportunity to re-enact fellowship that made Ngwa High School the best school in the South East.
“We have had series of activities these few months, including a homecoming, which involved all sets of the Old Boys Association going back to our school to see how things are going.
“We have also had audience with some of our members vying for political positions in Abia State. These include, our mate, Alex Otti, who is the governorship candidate of Labour Party, and Prof. Uche Ikonne, our senior, who is contesting the same position on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“This sympo is an opportunity for us to unwind and relive the good old days,” he said.
