Mr. Jason Njoku, Iroko TV Founder and a die hard fan of Arsenal Football Club has vowed that even his grandkids will support the club.
Mr. Njoku who revealed that even his children support the club said he hardly see a die hard football fan in Africa, noting that what Africans are known for is to quickly switch team, especially when their team is on the loosing side.
The Techprenuer was reacting following Arsenal FC 5-0 away game defeat in their Premier League game on Saturday against Manchester City FC.
Recall that Manchester City had thrashed a hapless 10-man Arsenal 5-0 in the Premier League on Saturday, a result that means the Arsenal have lost their opening three league games of a season for the first time since 1954-55.
The defeat which has became a trending topic on social media, saw Gunners fans reacting in differently, while some of their fans has vowed to switch club, the likes of Jason Njoku insisted that he and his family inclusive of his grand children will support the club despite their many defeat.
Announcing it on Twitter, Mr. Njoku tweet;
“The @Arsenal banter is interesting. Firstly. Football is important. But it’s not that important. Secondly the culture of supporting teams isn’t really a thing in Africa. Don’t think I’ve ever met someone who supports Aston Villa or Norwich or Everton. I’m sure they exist.
“What about Bolton? Newcastle? Glory hunting and team switching everywhere. I support @Arsenal. My kids do. My grankids will be will too. (Or face banishment). We take the lumps and move forward #COYG
