MTN mPulse Spelling Bee: “English hard” is a common Nigerian expression to underscore the difficulty in spelling English words and speaking the language.

However, spelling bee competitions have always garnered the interest of a large part of the population due to their fiercely competitive nature.

From aspiring students to their enthusiastic parents, spelling bee competitions have evolved from a contest to a popular culture.

The lure of exciting cash prizes, along with other incentives, has been known to intensify the spelling bee spirit, with children spending hours in preparation for the contest.
