As part of the ongoing capacity-building training for the 500 Y’ellopreneur participants, MTN organised a session to train the women on operations management and Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) issues.
The training session led by Trainer, Enterprise Development Centre, Biyi Oladipo, focused on teaching the participants everything involved in managing the day-to-day operations of their businesses and how to optimise their productivity.
He also highlighted that to run a successful business, entrepreneurs need to understand the key components of their operations which include cost, control, requirements, input/output, resources, strategy, planning and overseeing.
The participants also learnt that it is important for their business activity to be thoroughly planned, executed, controlled and evaluated.
The training also focused on the importance of ESG issues, and how entrepreneurs can infuse the concept into their business operations and be ESG compliant.
Speaking on the training, Biyi Oladipo, commended the active participation of the women throughout the session.
“The women were very invested in the class, they asked questions and even highlighted how they can adopt some of what they were learning into their business, and going by the comments in the class, a lot of them got answers to situations they were facing with their business operations,” he said.
Also speaking at the training session, Y’ellopreneur participant, Nafisat Abdullahi, highlighted how she intends to maximise the training for her business.
She also appreciated MTN Foundation and the Enterprise Development Centre team for putting the training together.
