Professor Ndubuisi Ekekwe is the founder of First Atlantic Semiconductors & Microelectronics, West Africa’s leading embedded systems company.
Ndubuisi Ekekwe was born in Ovim, in Abia State, where he attended the Secondary Technical School.
He passed his SSCE/WASC with flying colors obtaining 8 distinctions which included A2 in Further Mathematics thereby setting his school’s all-time record as the best exam results in that examination.
Ekekwe had an insatiable passion for science, which led him to obtain a Bachelor Degree in Engineering specializing in Electronics/Computer Engineering from the Federal University of Technology (FUTO), Owerri Imo State, from 1993-1998.
He was the best student in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at that institution.
He proceeded with higher learning which led him to obtain four masters degrees: MTech (Federal University of Technology, Akure) MSE (Johns Hopkins University, USA) Ms (Tuskegee University, USA) and MBA (University of Calabar).
He also obtained two Doctorates in Management from St. Clements University and an Electrical & Computer Engineering where he specialized in Microelectronics & Medical Robotics Engineering from the John Hopkins University, USA.
His remarkable brain power and contribution to science and technology earned him several high profile awards that included United States ERC/National Science Foundation Fellowship award, Johns Hopkins University Fellowship award, IGI Global 2010 “Book of the Year” Award, IBM Global Entrepreneur Award, World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, SAMSTAG fellowship, 2010 Who’s Who in America, 2018 NYCN Award for Outstanding Leadership amongst others.
