A Nigerian man who left the country for the United Kingdom, UK, three months ago as a student has been arrested by the police for sexual harassment of multiple underage children.
In viral video sighted by AbaCityBlog, the young man who refused to say his name when been quizzed by the country’s police was said to have been chatting with multiple underage girls, who specifically told him that they’re 14 years of age.
According to the police, multiple children had reported the young man for sexual harassment. The police said the man had sent some explicit images to other children while chatting with multiple of them and also went ahead and invited one to his apartment for sexual intercourse.
But, the young man who went to the UK in February said he never asked them for sex, rather he was only chatting with them online only to say hello and no strings attached.
“I chat with them online, say hello and have never asked them for sex,” the man said. He however, admitted that he had chatted about two of the girls who told him they’re 14 years of age.
When police asked him what prompted him to send a photo of his chest to the children, he said he thought they could become friends and exchange pictures online and he never had any bad intentions.
The police, however, told him that he had committed an offence and would face punishment.

A tweep opined that the young man should be locked up. “Lock him up in solitary confinement and throw away the key”, says @Nnekaagu
@estaaba tweet: Just 3 months in a new country?? That kind of confidence can only be because he’s been doing it and getting away with it for a very long time. I hope he enjoys his time in jail before deportation. His inmates will have a field day when they know what he’s been up to.
@tholu_piupa opined that the young man have been commiting the crime in Nigeria and going un-notice before heading to UK.
“Now imagine how many underage kids he had his way with while he lived here before he moved to the UK. Getting away with it here definitely gave him the confidence to do it there.”
While the young man may be facing jail time and deportation, it’s important to note that the age of consent in England is 16.
This is the age when young people of any sex, gender or sexual orientation can legally consent to taking part in sexual activity. This means that sexual activity between two or more people is always unlawful if at least one of the people is under the age of 16.
