A man identified as Sunday Orishagbemi, lost his life while attempting to resolve a fight between two men over urination in Zango Daji Quarters in the Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The incident was confirmed by the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Ayah.
It began when a friend of the aged 39-year-old Orishagbemi (deceased), who was a vulcanizer at Ganaja junction, Lokoja, stopped to urinate near a building belonging to a resident of the quarters.
The owner of the building objected, and an argument ensued between them. The deceased intervened to settle the disagreement between his friend and the building owner’s son, who allegedly took out a knife and fatally stabbed Orishagbemi.
The suspect has been arrested by the police for investigation, and SP Ayah has promised that the suspect will be prosecuted in court once the investigation is concluded.
