A Ugandan man, Baitwababo Herbert, has approached a magistrate court in Uganda, praying to be added back to a WhatsApp group he was removed from.
In a court document uploaded online, Herbert prayed the court to order the respondent to add him back to the WhatsApp group, Buyanja My Roots.
Delivering the judgement, the magistrate judge, His Worship, Igga Adiru, ordered that the applicant be added back to the WhatsApp group and on no account should his rights of association be infringed.
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED THAT;
- 1. The Applicant be added back to the ‘BUYANJA MY ROOTS’ Whatsapp Groups.
- 2. A permanent injunction doth issue restraining the Respondent, his agents and/or
his assignees from further infringing of the Applicant’s right of Association. - 3. No order as to costs – the court documents partly reads.
According to local media, they added Herbert back and made him administrator following the order of the court, however, one by one they left the group and created a new one.
In what can be defined as bizarre move, Mr Herbert whom was left alone in the WhatsApp group has again, vowed to approached the magistrate court to order the members back to the former group.
