Mrs Ukamaka Ejezie popularly known as Mama Biafra has regained her freedom from the custody of Department of State Services, DSS.
Mrs Ejezie was arrested in Abuja in June, when she and dozens of other IPOB members stormed the Federal High Court, Abuja, to show solidarity with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who is being tried by Nigerian authorities.
According to reports, Mama Biafra was whisked away by armed men who claimed to be from the office of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) in Abuja, since then, her whereabouts remained unknown.
However, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Kanu’s lawyer in a tweet on Sunday, announced that Mama Biafra has regained freedom.
He said that Kanu’s legal team made it happen and they’re doing everything within their power to release ‘every prisoners of conscience including the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.’
“I am very delighted to inform you all that Mrs Ukamaka Ejezie (Mama Biafra) has regained her freedom. She is now out of DSS dungeon,” Ejiofor said.
Thanking God for her freedom, Ejiofor said: “We are not relenting, every prisoners of conscience, including Our indefatigable Client, ONYENDU MAZI NNAMDI KANU will soon regain their freedom.
“We in the legal team, are doing everything legally permissible to make it happen, we are not resting on our oars at all, be assured Forward ever and backward never!
