All Nigerian Students and Community Association in India had praised President Muhammadu Buhari for the efforts to contain the spread of Coronavirus in Nigeria, and Urge Buhari to ensure that all Stimulus packages reached all Nigerians irrespective of tribe or Religion.
“We Pray for all Nigerians especially the index cases who are being treated in various isolated areas for speedy recovery recover, including the Chief of staff to President, Abba kyari, and wish him well”, the association said in a press statement.
According to the statement, many Nigerians were stranded in the face of Stimulus packages for Indian citizens, having left out foreigners in India.
This is following reports that India is likely to agree an economic stimulus package of more than 1.5 trillion rupees ($19.6 billion) to fight a downturn in the country that is currently locked down to stem the spread of coronavirus, two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters.
However, as reported, the stimulus package strictly for the citizens, the decision which has left many Nigerians in India stranded as the lockdown came to them unaware.
