“Jesus is love. It has no explanation”, Roberto Firmino has said shortly after giving his life to Christ and got baptised by team mates.
The emotional ceremony took place on Tuesday as the Brazilian star was joined by his family and friends at his home, while he used his own swimming pool for the immersion.
Reports has it that LIVERPOOL star Alisson being a devoted Christian had the privilege of baptizing his friend, Firmino.
The ceremony was graced by Brazilian worship singer Isaias Saad, who sang a worship song during the baptising as Firmino rose up from the water and embraced his wife Larissa, who he married in 2017.
Others witnesses in attendance wore t-shirts with a cross-equals-love logo on it, commonly associated with the global Hillsong Church.

And in an Instagram post on Wednesday, backed by the Portuguese version of Lauren Daigle’s worship song You Say, Firmino confessed: “Jesus is love. It has no explanation. “Just believe in him, just believe and feel the Holy Spirit.”
He captioned the post: “I gave you my failures and the victories I will give you too. My greatest title is Your love Jesus!
“‘Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away; behold, new things have come!’ New time.”
It should be recalled that Baptism is a public declaration of one’s faith in Jesus, signifying new life as a believer in Christ and a commitment to following his teaching.
However, Firmino’s decision drew lots of reaction as many of his colleagues, especially the Christians commented.
Alisson himself wrote: “Glory to Jesus for your life my brother!”
Spurs’ Lucas Moura added: “Glory to God!! Happy Birthday brother. Best decision of your life!!”
Aston Villa striker Wesley Moraes said: “May God keep blessing you always brother, congratulations for another achievement in your life.”
