Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has reassured that he will hand over the Abia new Government House and JAAC Secretariate before he exits office in May, 2023.
Governor Ikpeazu gave the assurance while inspecting the ongoing construction of the New Government House, Ogurube layout Umuahia. He said he was happy that the workers on ground have assured that they would deliver the job on schedule.
He further made public that he would be monitoring the work on weekly basis with a firm assurance that he would move into the new Government House before the expiration of his tenure.
On the new Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) building, which he equally inspected, the Governor described it as a massive edifice.
While admitting that a lot of work still has to be done in terms of landscaping, connecting to the national grid, installation of industrial borehole among other things, he however assured that the project would be handed over to Abia people before the end of his tenure.
He directed the Commisioner for Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs to raise a technical team to provide the work plan together with the financial implications with a view to ensuring that the job is delivered.
Governor Ikpeazu was accompanied to the sites by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Chris Ezem, Commissioners, Head of Service, Sir Onyii Wamah, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Okey Ahiwe, Local Government Chairmen, Permanent Secretaries among other dignitaries.
