The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, COSEYL, the apex socio-political youth group in the South East geopolitical zone have threw their weight behind the Aba North State Constituency House of Assembly Members-Elect, Hon. Destiny Nwagwu for Speaker of 8th Abia State House of Assembly.
The group said they arrived at the decision after painstakingly ran a profile check of all elected House of Assembly Members-Elect for the 8th Abia State House of Assembly in other to ensure that Ndi Abia get a Speaker who is inspired by commitment to serve selflessly, a man of integrity, a man who understands the dreams and inspiration of the Governor to turn Abia around for good and a man who has no baggage of any wrong doing or corruption.
“As a group that has the interest of The people at heart and desires for positive and proactive change in Abia State, we subjected the names of Abia South House of Assembly Members-Elect to an open election by the Abia people and Hon. Destiny Nwagwu won with the majority vote cast,” COSEYL said in a statement signed by its presidential general, Hon. Goodluck Ibem.
“As representatives of our people who are only duty bound to serve the interest of our people and to do what our people wants at all times. Abia people said the want Destiny Nwagwu Members-Elect for Aba North State Constituency as their Speaker for the 8th Abia State House of Assembly because he is a man of integrity, strength of character and a man with no baggage of any wrong doing or corruption traced to him.”
“Abians said he is the man whom the believe will transform the vision of the Governor-Elect Dr. Alex Chioma Otti into reality by supporting his transformational and purposeful leadership in the House of Assembly through sponsorship of people oriented bills and laws in the House.”
“We believe that the Governor-Elect who is a democrat will do the wish of Abia People by supporting a candidate of their choice whom the believe will deliver on the goods when elected as Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly.”
“The issue of being a former member or a ranking member of the House is immaterial and unnecessary because what we are talking about is the interest of the majority of Abia people and not the interest of a selected few who are looking for an opportunity to milk the state dry.”
“Abians have gone through a lot which makes it mandatory to elect a man of vision and integrity like Hon. Destiny Nwagwu Members-Elect for Aba North State Constituency as Speaker who will led the House to greater performance and good working relationship with the executive arm of government for the overall benefit of Abia people,” the statement concluded.
