Saint Patrick’s Catholic Community, Igbere, the local church of the home of the Chief Whip of the Senate and former governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has pleaded with their son to run for the president in 2023.
The request was made on Sunday during the occasion of Kalu’s warm reception by the catholic community.
The visibly happy congregation who showered Kalu with several gifts expressed appreciation to Kalu for his large contributions to the church
Presenting an address at the end of the mass, the parish Priest of the church, Reverend Father Patrick Chukwulekwa, prayed and thanked God for Kalu
Part of his address reads as follows: “May we use this opportunity to inform you, His Excellency, that we deeply shared with you every moment of your time of trials and subsequent incarceration, which could be best described as unjust, wicked, cowardly and outright abuse of power. No wonder, it not only raised wide outcry and condemnation nationally and internationally, but also made the heaven weep. But then, as believers, we went to God in prayers.
Speaking further, he said, “ Guess what His Excellency, God did not waste a moment to give answers to our numerous questions- He opened our minds and made us see things from His eyes. And we saw the Biblical Joseph’s scenario playing out one again in our time and in our midst. It was then that , we had Peace in our minds for God never deceives His own. But , we have ceaselessly remained with you in prayers. Knowing too well that it wasn’t an easy road to cross. “THE JOSEPH OF OUR TIME”, we urge you to be strong , bold and resolute and consistently continue to wait upon God. He will surely honour His word.
Summarizing his address, the parish priest said, “Once more, St Patrick Catholic Community welcomes you, “THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA “ . We pledge our unalloyed support to you and will continually pray to God to see you through in all your endeavors. Your journey and that of members of your entourage back to your various destinations
