  • Support all candidates of Igbo extraction in South-East, South-South for 2023 presidency

The Indigenous Biafran Warriors (IBW) and its forest guard unit, Igbo Hunters (IH) on Friday said that the ongoing destruction of life and properties in Igboland must stop without further delay.

IBW also charged its Inner Security Organ (ISO), all its Red Cap Commandos and its other Intelligence Organs all over the South-East and the South-South region of Nigeria to be on alert for action.

It further charged all the aforementioned organs within the group to be more tactical than physical as they continue to gather information against the current insecurity in Igboland which it believes will soon be a thing of the past.

After a two day caucus meeting in Aba, Abia State which was held from 13th 14th April 2022, IBW addressed the press on Friday and publicly declared its total support for the Nigerian president of Igbo extraction.

Addressing the press on behalf of IBW, Sunday Ezeokafor, Acting Director of information called on all the Igbo leaders, traditional rulers, clergy, students union and youth to come together for the actualization of the presidency project in 2023.

Ezeokafor also called on all Biafran freedom fighters no matter the name of the group, to support Igbo political leaders on the actualization of the Igbo presidency in 2023.

He said that the support for Igbo political leaders for the 2023 presidency has become necessary so that after 2023 strong support, the political leaders will see what the freedom fighters have seen years before they decided to move for the actualization of the sovereign state of Biafra.

Ezeokafor called upon all Igbo Governors and political leaders to move fast and secure the unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) from detention.

He warned that on no account should Kanu suffer any harm while in detention stressing that should any harm befalls the IPOB leader while in custody, the consequences will not work well for all.

“We support, our leaders we call on them to work for the unity of the Igbo nation. Igbo people all over the state of Nigeria. It is not news to anyone that indigenous Igbos are too many within the population of South-South Nigeria. So, we are in support of the Nigerian president of Igbo extraction not just from the Southeast part of Igboland.

“Since the Ohaneze Ndigbo constitution and membership was extended to the Indigenous Igbos in Delta State and River State nothing stops them from contesting the presidential election on behalf of Igbo people because we’re all one despite the geopolitical zone divisions which mean nothing to us.”

Ezeokafor said anybody trying to separate Igbos in South-South and South-East is making a huge mistake because the constitution of Ohanaeze Ndigbo allows for the rotational presidency among qualified persons from the seven states where different Igbo dialects are spoken as indigenous languages which include Imo, Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi, Delta, Rivers and Anambra State.

“We will never allow our greedy politicians to divide the Igbo nation never. We needed unity, not to fall into the tactics of divide and rule of our common enemy,” they said.

He said that after carefully looking and watching and studying the Igbo political leaders, from the South-East and their counterpart in the South-South, it decided to stand by his Mr Peter Obi from the South-East and possibly Prof. Pat Utomi from the South-South should the latter ever declare to run.

Ezeokafor said that the two worthy Igbo sons are the candidates it has discovered, willing to support and will present to Nigerian citizens to choose because they have what it takes to create a better Nigeria if at all Nigeria wants to survive.

He warned that if political leaders and the Nigerian nation fails to allow an Igbo man to be a successor to President Muhamadu Buhari after so many years of Igbos’ contribution to nation-building in Nigeria, nobody should blame them for their next actions.

The IBW Director of Information said that their next actions should the growing fear of a clandestine plot to deny Igbos a chance to be president becomes a reality will start with heavy mobilization for Biafra all over the territories of Old Eastern Region.
