The Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has responded to a comment made by Kogi Senator, Smart Adeyemi on his person.
Abacityblog.com reported that Senator Smart Adeyemi had last week during a Senate plenary lambasted Ikpeazu and called him a “champagne drinking Governor”.
According to the Senator, Abia State has always been unfortunate in terms of chosing their leaders, he cited that the current Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu is a drunkard.
The aspersion has caused so much uproar online as many has advised to call the Kogi Senator to order.
However, responding to Adeyemi’s comment, Gov Ikpeazu, during Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe’s birthday in Abuja, said he isn’t even a drinking type, neither is he a drunkard as alleged by Smart Adeyemi.

“Let me use this opportunity to respond to whether or not I am a drunkard as posited by someone last week.
I do not drink and I don’t begrudge those who do. At a time when leaders are called to speak on serious issues affecting our people, some choose to dwell on what others do and what they do not do.
“Finally, if you are bathing and a mad man takes your wrapper and runs away, if you run after him naked, people will not know who is the mad person”.
