As an experienced reporter, I have seen many initiatives aimed at empowering young people in Nigeria, but none have excited me quite as much as the Softicu Scholarship Program.
The program aims to empower 5,000 youths in Abia State with digital skills between 2023 to 2025, and I have no doubt that it will have a transformative impact on the lives of these young people.
At a time when digital skills are more important than ever, the Softicu Scholarship Program is a shining example of how private organizations can make a real difference in the lives of young Nigerians.
The program will offer courses in Web Development, Digital Marketing, UI/UX Design, Cybersecurity, Graphics Design, Digital Literacy and Office productivity, and Data Analysis. These skills are in high demand in today’s digital economy and will enable graduates of the program to take advantage of a range of employment opportunities.
The program has been designed to be as accessible as possible, with students given the option to choose their preferred training mode, which can be physical (onsite) from one of Softicu’s training centers or virtual (online) from Softicu’s e-learning platform.
Additionally, the program fee of 300,000 Naira has been subsidized to 50,000 Naira for each student by Softicu’s scholarship partners, making it affordable for even those from less privileged backgrounds.
Perhaps the most exciting aspect of the Softicu Scholarship Program is the fact that it goes beyond just providing training. Graduates of the program will be placed on internships or offered job opportunities, ensuring that they can put their newfound skills to work and start building successful careers in the digital economy.
