Imo Bright Chinecherem, a musician and an outspoken man when it comes to State of the Nation, has cried out to the public since hackers took over his Facebook account and declared him positive from Coronavirus.
In a chat with This Platform, Mr. Bright said since the news of his infection with Covid19, he has received many calls and text messages from family and friends.
He said; “Few days ago my Facebook account was hacked by some hoodlums, they used it in announcing that I have just contracted the covid-19 virus. Since then the news has been spreading, their main aim is stampede my works of activism.
“Many of my friends, well wishers and loved ones has been calling to inquire the reality of the strange news.
Contacting this Abacityblog, Mr. Bright want the public to disregard the news as he battle to retrieve his account from the hackers.
“The fake news spreading everywhere of me having Corona virus is fake. The alleged sickness was a handwork of some hoodlums who managed to penetrate into my social media account to stampede my works of activism.
“I’m healthy and alive without any form of virus,” Mr. Bright told our correspondent.
Sharing the screenshot of the message since he can’t be able to login into his account at the moment, Mr. Bright said the hackers drop the message on 19th of April.
The message shared by the hackers on his behalf reads…
“Everybody here should pls pray for me, I have just tested positive to the deadly virus; Corona virus. I will soon submit myself to the nearest isolation center. If I happens to die of the virus, just always remember that throughout my living on Earth that I stood against injustices, all sorts of wickedness meted on the old and the weak.
“All my good friends and lovers should pray for me.
“I’m not quitting yet.
“This is the time I need your prayers most.

Meanwhile, Covid19, a disease caused by Coronavirus has killed about 44 people across Nigeria with 1532 confirmed cases, the country has recorded about 255 recovered patients.

With the recent record release of 195 confirmed cases by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, not fewer 34 states in Nigeria has gotten its share of the virus and testing is currently ongoing in some states.
