It is no longer news that president Muhammadu Buhari, has Sacked the Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Adamu, before the expiration of his tenure.
Adamu was replaced with Usman Akali Baba.
This follows after the Imo State Police Command headquarters was attacked.
He was billed to retire on the 1st of Fabruary the president extended his tenure to three months on February 4th.
The former IGP had about 28 days to the end of the extended tenure when the President removed him from office on Tuesday.
Meanwhile before the he was Sacked, it was gathered that Adamu had spent over N2billion to get one-year extension in office but got only three-month which he refused to celebrate.
According to Sahara reports, Adamu visited traditional rulers and persons of influence across Nigeria and also spent on influencers in the Presidential Villa to get a one-year extension but the efforts did not materialise.
A source said when the extension of office for the IGP was declared, Adamu locked his door, which prevented senior officers from congratulating him.
