The Elections has come and gone but the intrigues, vendettas and out right clannishness from hitherto APC stalwarts in Abia state severely cost the party and affected the margin of victory of it’s presidential aspirant, save for the political sagacity of Senator Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, who despite the wave of Obi factor, delivered Abia North to APC and got a reasonable margin in the presidential Election for president Tinubu, APC as a party would have been extinct in Abia state after the elections.
As a keen political observer during the last general Election with particular interest in Abia North, I noticed with astonishment how the likes of the gubernatorial candidate of APC in Abia state Chief Dr Ikechi Emenike and the APC House of Representatives candidate for Umunneochi/Isuikwuato federal Constituency Hon Nkeiruka onyejiocha did not only invariably Campaign against the party but against themselves too while ignorantly thinking they are campaigning against Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
In several political foras, campaigns and events, it is on record that Chief Ikechi Emenike who is the gubernatorial candidate of the APC and who was expected to not only bring the party together but to unselfishly champion it’s cause was the one in the fore front of Campaigning against it by telling both party stalwarts and the General public not to vote for Senator Orji Uzor Kalu even if it means not voting for the party, which inadvertently includes him, a fact am sure he didn’t factor in while making those assertions, the same with the House of reps APC candidate for Umunneochi/Isuikwuato who throw every sense of decorum and caution to the wind and brazenly campaigned against the candidature of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu even at the detriment of her own Ambition and that of the party, indeed what a foolery? Meanwhile from findings available OUK despite been in the know that the above duo were Campaigning against him never openly or otherwise campaigned against them, in serveral foras our findings confirmed that the senator was openly campaigning for all the APC candidate from top to bottom.
It is on record and General knowledge that the dou of Ikechi Emenike and Nkeiruka onyejiocha who like the proverbial grasshopper, was on a path to self destruction when they chose to embark on self imposed vendetta borne out of nothing against the person of OUK as he is fondly called, who is more loved, more popular, more politically sagacious and relevant than the dou combined.
A descerning mind will ask, assuming even that there is a justified vendetta against OUK for any reason at all, why doing it at your peril and that of the party? it defies all logic that one will willingly set out to shoot himself in the leg but that is the case with Ikechi Emenike and Nkeiruka onyejiocha who consciously shot themselves with bazooka while pursuing a misconceived agenda, no wonder they all lost woefully.
It will be recalled that on the senatorial Election day which happened to also be the day of the presidential Election, Ikechi Emenike and Nkeiruka onyejiocha hijacked the party’s agents albeit to get at OUK and instructed the party agents not to work for OUK and the party, infact they mandated them to work for other parties an action that did not only affect the Chances of president Tinubu who was the parties candidate but also drastically reduced the margin of vote president Tinubu would have gotten from Abia State.
On record president Tinubu and APC got over 8,000 votes in Abia state while Abia North alone contributed to half of that margin, a feet made possible by Distinguished Senator Orji Uzor who despite the gimmicks of Emenike and onyejiocha was able to deliver over 4000 votes for Tinubu.
It is imperative to state the obvious above, as these same characters even though Karma did serve them better breakfast, are already in town trying to benefit from the Administration of president Ahmed Tinubu, an Administration which they hitherto by their actions tried to destroy at it’s incubation stage.
