There was sporadic shooting by hoodlums, Wednesday night, in Okigwe town, Okigwe L.G.A Imo state which left 8 persons dead and not less than 12 others wounded.
The hoodlums had a field day as they went street by street in Okigwe town with bikes shooting, killing & injured people unchallenged by any security agency.
Member representing Okigwe State constituency Hon. Chidiebere Ogbunikpa during plenary on Thursday registered his displeasure of the invasion by armed gangs in the area. He stated that the police & other security agencies have failed to protect the people of Okigwe L.G.A contrary to their vows to be the watchdog of the society.
The speaker of the House, RT. Hon Chiji Collins while reacting to this summoned CP Imo state Olaniyi .B. Fafowora to appear at the floor of the state assembly next Tuesday over the incessant killings going on in Okigwe council area of the state.
