The Kogi State gubernatorial aspirant and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Sunday Umoru officially undrape his ten (10) major point agenda in a press release through his media team.
The aspirant had previously told the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) executives in Lokoja during his official declaration in May, of 2018 that he was seeking the governorship mandate on the party’s platform to enable him rescue the state from its current state of underdevelopment and hardships which he claimed were severely inflicted on the people by the APC-led government.
The PDP chieftain express his dissatisfaction over the quandary shape of the economy of the State which is currently running on life support going by the low internally generated revenue (IGR) by the previous administration and the current administration.
According to Chief Umoru, the Capt. Idris Wada’s administration claimed it was generating between N500 million Naira to N600 million Naira monthly in IGR, that could not be corroborated by Bello’s administration, while the Yahaya Bello administration claimed to be generating about N1.1 billion Naira monthly in IGR.
“This is laughable! because this amount of revenue is still not enough to turn around the economy of the State positively as expected”, since Gov. Yahaya Bello’s administration has further plunged Kogi State into indebtedness and currently spends N840 million Naira monthly to service debts from loans.
Chief Umoru, emphasized on the serious need to create viable sources of income to sustain the state forthwith, and in view of Umoru’s plans to rescue Kogi State from shackles, the chieftain has gone ahead of other gubernatorial aspirants to unveil his ten (10) point agenda.
