Group reveals how EEDC Is Working against President Buhari’s plans of industrialization of South East zone

It should be recalled that EEDC, just like other Disco companies in Nigeria, are the one distributing electricity in South East. The group in a statement signed by its President General, Chief Goodluck Egwu Ibem, said EEDC is totally determined to undermine and frustrated President Muhammadu Buhari industrialization plans for the people of South East zone.

According to the group, Mr. President is doing everything possible to promote industrialization of the South East zone but the owners and operators of EEDC has sworn to frustrate Mr. President good intentions of industrialization of South East zone by bluntly refusing to distribute electricity power supply to the people for their businesses, industries, companies and personal uses.

“As we all know that, a town without electricity power supply, is a town without development and progress. Mr. President have put in place infrastructures and facilities to enhance business activities in the zone , but operators of EEDC are hellbent to frustrate the good intentions of Mr. President to promote business and industrialization of the zone.

It is very unfortunate that the only thing that EEDC does is to collect money from customers without distributing electricity power to the people.

At the end of every month, EEDC will share their fraudulent estimated bills demanding for people to go and pay their concocted bill. The day they share their bills, they will distribute power that will not stay up to an hour and they will take it back. After collecting money from customers within a period of one week , they will stop distributing electricity power until the end of another month.

The annoying part is that the power stays for only 10 to 15 minutes on the days they decide to give it to customers within the period of one week they will be collecting money from their customers.

Actions the say speaks louder than words. The actions of EEDC in South East, clearly depicts that they are out to frustrate the geniune intentions of Mr. President to better the lots of the people by providing electricity for their commercial activities and industries.

They people of South East especially the commercial areas like Aba, Umuahia, Owerri, Onitsha and other towns are boiling to protest against the activities of EEDC in the zone and it will not be good for the image of this administration hence these appeal in order to address the fraudulent activities of EEDC in the South East.

It very clear that President Buhari frawns at any form of corruption and EEDC will not be an exception. What is good for the gender is also good for the gander. EEDC should not be allowed to go free of these great act of corruption against the Nigerian state.

For instance, in uratta area of Aba off Port Harcourt road of Abia state. They distributed their estimated bills on thursday 7 November,2019 and they distributed electricity power for 1 hour on Friday 8 November,2019 and up till now no electricity power has been given to them . They brought the electricity power just to entice people to pay their fraudulent estimated bills. What a deceit.

These brazen broad daylight robbery and gross act of corruption by the EEDC is totally unacceptable and we call for full scale probe . The Economic and Financial Crime Commission should probe operators and owners of EEDC. Their activities is totally against the next level agenda of Mr. President.

We therefore call on President Muhammadu Buhari to order a probe into the activities of EEDC . They are clearly determined to drag his name into the mud and it will not be good to allow them achieve their purpose.
